We are pleased to announce that Theta-Consult Ltd. is now the official representative for Bulgaria of Radonova Laboratories AB, a Swedish company and global leader in radon measurement.
Why is this important?
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is the leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Its accurate measurement is crucial to ensuring a healthy environment in homes, offices, and public buildings. The measurement and control of radon concentration in Bulgaria are mandatory and regulated by the Law on the Safe Use of Nuclear Energy (LSUNE), the Ordinance on Radiation Protection (ORP), and Ordinance No. RD-02-20-1 of April 3, 2019, on the technical requirements for buildings for protection against radon.
What does the partnership mean for our customers?
This strategic partnership significantly expands Theta-Consult’s portfolio in the field of radiation control and enables Bulgarian customers to gain direct access to high-quality, reliable, and, last but not least, accredited radon monitoring services.
Theta-Consult Ltd. now offers the full range of Radonova services, including passive alpha track detectors and specific radon monitoring instruments:
- Rapidos: Detector for short-term measurements (usually 10 days). Suitable for rapid risk assessment or for monitoring after measures have been implemented.
- Radtrak3: Detector for long-term measurements (minimum 90 days). Essential for determining the average annual radon concentration and achieving legal compliance.
- Duotrak: Designed for simultaneous measurement at two different points or for comparative testing.
- Ecotrak: Specialized detector for measuring radon in soil, critical for risk assessment prior to construction.
- SPIRIT: Active measuring device for continuous real-time monitoring.
Radonova works with customers in over 80 countries worldwide. Their clients include government agencies, large construction companies, universities, and research centers in the US, Canada, and across Europe. They are one of the largest laboratories in the world, analyzing hundreds of thousands of detectors every year. Together with Theta-Consult, these services are now available in Bulgaria.
